California, this November 4th, the whole country is counting on you.

Prop 50 puts our elections back on a level playing field, preserves independent redistricting over the long term, and lets the people decide.

So return your ballot today. Vote yes on 50.

1. As some Democrats have run from transgender rights, Zohran Mamdani is showing what so many others have lacked: courage to lead with his values over pandering to focus groups.

The ad is one of the best things I've seen from a politician on transgender people.

Dearest Father
The horrors in Portland continue. The Gen X Ladies Crochet and Defense Circle had to walk three extra blocks for supplies when our usual yarn commissary was closed due to a water leak. (Was it the enemy or just bad luck, I’m afraid we’ll never know, but I suspect the worst). Yrs Emma

We can’t lose focus on what matters – right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to gerrymander district lines to unfairly win five seats in next year’s midterm elections. This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.

Saw Sinners last night. DAMN (haha) that was a good movie. I would have loved to see a parallel music scene outside to the first one with Preacherboy (which was jawdroppingly fantastic). Hope that’s vague enough to not give anything away for those who haven’t seen it clear enough for those who have.

Aren't we all having a bit of a hard time with the concept that if a guy in a police uniform who has a police vehicle
shows up, we should lock the doors and call 911, but if a guy in a ski mask appears to be kidnapping our neighbor, we shouldn't ask who he is if we don't want federal charges. 🤷
