Kindness-first personality. I try my best to react with kindness and compassion first, but it’s always backed up with a low-threshold tolerance for the opposite. I'm a cynical meliorist.
Good. We never should have been trusted in the first place. America has, since even *before it's inception, placed itself in the position of global bully through wars, genocides, xenophobic foreign and domestic policies and more due to its foundational white supremacist, christofascist tendencies. 🤷🏾‍♀️
“…Even if they are able to clean up his mess … elect a supremely sane president next, America will NEVER again be a trusted partner. Because there are enough Americans who would vote for him … (again).

I couldn't even say anything. She was right. The damage this has done is endless…”

The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.

"Researchers found that participating families reported less economic hardship, reduced food insecurity, higher savings and improved well-being by the end of the pilot program. Parents said they had more time for their kids because they worked less overtime, and they noticed improvements in school."
A new Washington University study found that St. Louis' guaranteed basic income pilot program helped hundreds of families. But a lawsuit paused payments, and later crises deepened the financial strain many participants already faced.

Now paying *double what my family was paying (w/ only 4 out of 5 of us enrolled) for the lowest tier, least expensive ACA marketplace plan.

If the ACA isn't renewed, we won't be able to afford healthcare, because the unsubsized plan would cost us $2438.74/month.

Don't get sick in America.

This is a very succinct explanation of how being inclusive didn't take away from what you are.

Once again, art sees through social cognitive dissonance.

And yes, the last line is the punchline.
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥

Energy systems are at the heart of climate change, technology, and the future of how we live, but they’re far more complex than most people realise.

This is a great explainer video by @chrisjardineenergy.bsky.social that helps to make sense of the energy system.

Mike Johnson is big mad that we forced through a petition and forced a vote on releasing the Epstein files.

So let’s do it again. This time to restore the ACA credits he stole from us:

Universal basic income is nothing less than a goddamn human right just as much as universal healthcare and education are. And I don't care if anyone works less because we should be working less. We should have shorter weeks instead of bullshit jobs. We have the productive capacity to meet ALL NEEDS.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
