All of these people, if the moral arc of the universe is bending in the right direction will be held accountable at some point.

Now that the Republicans are all in power and having to govern any human being with a conscience is going to start getting tired of the performative distractions, they were doing before they were elected. They can’t blame anyone anymore other than themselves.

This is because as human beings facts come second to subconscious bias, and belief systems. Our behavior is based on how we feel. We act out in all kinds of ways counter to what is true. The Supreme Court is filled with people.

My wife keeps asking me should we sell our house and move out of the country? My response is, where would we move? If there comes a time that we really have to do that, it may be more difficult at that point to do it.

Not much has changed for most people in the United States to feel the authoritarian takeover is real. We come home watch Netflix make dinner as normal. Other than immigrants and fired federal workers. It’s going to take a significant amount of pain for the country to wake up and resist.

I didn’t see it till I was nine or 10 also and on a black-and-white television. Even in black-and-white it had an impression on me.

This is another problem about information in our social media society. You can frame the truth however you want. Popular government requires an “informed” electorate. If that goes, the whole experiment goes.

The damage he is doing to all of our institutions will take a generation or more to repair (legal, academic, economic, medical, statistical, military, research,…intelligence). We now live in a different America.

Democracy, as a concept is utilitarian to the right. MAGA supports democracy if it strengthens their worldview which they deem necessary for a healthy society. If democracy is enabling left and that creates Liberal policies that destroy the country then democracy is bad.

Just the type of person you want running the most powerful country and military in the world. Perfect!

Resistance needs to focus on Congress! We need to name names. Republicans in Congress need to be held accountable. The only way out is for Congress to step up. The country needs to mobilize to force Congress to do its job. A year and a half to wait for another election maybe be too late.

This is becoming a war on information. “Truth” is losing.

There will be a cost. It’s just how much.
