Quality improvement isn’t extra work- it’s take time for sure, and this should be integrated into our working hours— but surely it’s part of our responsibility in healthcare. We all have a duty to notice what’s not working, ask why, and make it better—for patients, for staff, for the system. #RCN25

New data shows that A&E waits for those in a mental health crisis have risen substantially.

Additionally, the mental health workforce has not grown enough to keep up with demand for services.

Hear from members at #RCN25 on how this impacts them and those they care for.

#RCN25 Congress once again proving the power of connection! So special to reunite with peers from #NursingNow — including one I’ve known for over five years but met in person for the first time today. Nursing is truly a global community, and its strength lies in our shared passion and purpose.

Congress discussed the original MFD around whether the 50th anniversary of the H&S at Work Act was celebrating 50 years of failure.

@rcn.org.uk delegates changed this to a Resolution to demand the government reviews and updates the Act to align to current workforce practise

Congress, it’s time we changed that, it’s time to get loud. We need urgent, long-term investment. We need pay parity. We need training and progression routes. And most of all — we need to el-ivate the voice of the social care workforce. #RCN25 #LetsGetLoud #SocialCare

Improve social care isn’t just an efficiency issue! This is about people. Patients who decondition while waiting for discharge. Families in distress. Nurses caught between impossible decisions. And a social care workforce that remains underpaid, under-recognised, and overlooked. #RCN25

Healthcare workers in war zones face unimaginable horror—treating the wounded in bombed communities, risking their lives with every shift. Many are injured, abducted, or killed. They deserve protection, not peril. Healthcare is not a target. #RCN25 #HealthcareforAll

The care worker visa ban is a short-sighted move with long-term consequences. It risks collapsing an already fragile sector, separating families, and leaving thousands without essential care. This isn’t just immigration policy—it’s a threat to dignity, care, and compassion. #RCN25
