The thing about people who hate is that they're living sad lives. Imagine how poor your life must be if all you have is hate rather than enjoying the beauty of nature and the richness of a diverse humanity? No amount of money can compensate for that. ♥️

I'm about to head home from an amazing #RCN25.

I absolutely love Congress but this year with NHS job cuts I didn't realise how much I needed Congress.

Thank you to all the incredible people I've met. U have reminded me of my value.

Powerful hearing international nurses and nursing support workers responding to Kier Statmer at RCN Congress.

His words hurt. His anti-migrant rhetoric has been labeled a 'betrayal'.

We called, they came. Thank you to all our international colleagues.

I spoke up about a subject close to my heart. It’s about more than visas. What is next? Are they going to look at those living in the U.K. with settled status? An emotive subject but one that needs to happen in light of the released white paper earlier this week. #RCN25
Congress debated an emergency item on the proposed care workers' visa ban this morning. Gloucestershire branch's Ewout Jackson spoke passionately on the topic, having moved here from the Netherlands 15 years ago. The item was passed with overwhelming support shown for international colleagues.

The care worker visa ban is a short-sighted move with long-term consequences. It risks collapsing an already fragile sector, separating families, and leaving thousands without essential care. This isn’t just immigration policy—it’s a threat to dignity, care, and compassion. #RCN25

An emotive topic that shouldn't need to be debated...

The ban around the Care Workers Visa needs to be reversed.

@rcn.org.uk Congress attendees spoke passionately to this matter, which was turned into a Resolution

Health tourism occurs for many reasons. But everyone needs to receive appropriate follow-up care when they come back. Any private care received anywhere should be legally required to be communicated to GPs directly by the providing company so this can be managed safely

Listening to an interesting discussion around the use of #AI in nurse education. AI can proof a valuable tool in nursing education if done right. It needs managing well and there is a need to learn to use it well. Nurses can not be replaced but AI can be a good sidekick. #RCN25
