If they designed any of this to help instead of replace people, we might be onto something. But this is just badly written garbage that takes up a lot of time/resources.

As usual, I’m wondering where we could be if we actually tried to produce the BEST thing instead of the most “profitable” thing 😑

I have to tell it what to do, then remind it at every step what it was trying to do in the first place. It can’t even reliably “recall” the thing that it just said before I type out a new thing for it to do. Half of what people promote as Ai is just “automation” which we’ve had for decades already.

So needless to say: I’m extremely unimpressed.

I realise the bad shit with Ai, but it cannot take AN ALREADY COMPLETED LIST and build a schedule for me from it. That’s… pathetic.

Once people get past the OOO SHINY, they’ll realise this shit isn’t more than a badly written PS script and drop it.

I’ve pushed Ai to actually help me. I asked it to do things like: build me a custom schedule (after I input all my individual tasks- something I know it can’t figure out), analyse videos and write emails. It can BARELY write an email. It cannot do anything else without a shitton of handholding.

People the most worried about stuff like Ai either use tech way too much or not enough. I’ve always stayed in the sweet spot of pushing tech to do MY bidding. Not ambiently letting it do what it’s programmed to do. Because of this, I’m constantly unimpressed and fed up by what tech CAN’T do.

One of the primary reasons I’m not afraid about a “machine uprising” or Ai. There’s no good marketing reason for this to KEEP happening. And I have no reason to suspect that there is any “intelligence” behind this.

App does a thing

Wish there was a way in Photos to make it some pictures never become a movie. Just had to hide over 300 photos from my horse’s last day because my iPhone keeps making a fucking upbeat movie about it and I keep deleting it. The act of deleting a movie should signal to NOT make movies from those pics.
