btw i need to rewrite all the code for ide.charstiles.com that was the intention, infact the github repo is called fantasy_ide_1 because i rewrote it after making fantasy_ide_0 which is a rewrite of fantasy_ide

Visiting Parisian livecode meetup. Good to know that film students gently filming livecoders in their natural habitat for their class documentary on strange people who do strange things is a universal livecoder experience.

if the discussions and calls I've been having lately are any indication, we're about to see significant renewed focus on developer communities. reality is setting in and companies are realizing AI is not a miracle; it's a tool, and tools are only valuable if and when people use them to build things

i opted out of the facial recognition & the agent then held my passport picture next to my face, scanned back and forth ~6 times, i was like you have a multitude more power from specialized neurons for human face recognition than AI- quick glance is better than what the top AI can do at the moment

Offset Marketplace is a new project in collaboration with @tega.bsky.social. We calculate the carbon savings of industrial sabotage, package these savings into carbon credits, and sell them as certificates. Profits are then donated back to the activists responsible for the actions. offset.labr.io

I was giving a lecture and keynote wasn’t playing my video and instead of restarting my computer, I spent 10 min telling students about how often times file types are just secretly zip files and if you rename a .key to .zip you can just open it up and find a video and play it using any video player

this was an after party to the wiki conference, WHICH was disrupted by a man with a GUN threatening suicide over wikipedia rules, anyways at the party all the wiki editors were upset over the tiny details the news got wrong and it was the most wikipedia editor way to respond to a traumatic event
