Gotta say, this is a nice little regular-moviegoer-friendly featurette on the visual effects of "F1" (2025). There are around 2500 digital visual effects shots in the movie.

F1® The Movie — Behind the VFX | Behind the Scenes | Apple TV
Invisible by design, engineered for authenticity. This is the story behind the visual effects in F1® The Movie. #F1TheMovie is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV https://apple.co/_F1 From Apple Original Films and the filmmakers from Top Gun: Maverick comes the high-octane, action-packed feature film F1, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, seven-time FORMULA 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman. Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was FORMULA 1’s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to FORMULA 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team's hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. But as the engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him and he finds that in FORMULA 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition—and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone. F1 also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem, and has been shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport. Kosinski directs from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger. The film is executive produced by Daniel Lupi. Collaborating with Kosinski behind the scenes are his creative team, including director of photography Claudio Miranda, production designers Mark Tildesley and Ben Munro, editor Stephen Mirrione, costume designer Julian Day, casting director Lucy Bevan and composer Hans Zimmer. Under no circumstance will I hand over the job of interpreting emails people have written to me to an LLM. I communicate with the people I communicate with, and I am the best judge of intent and reading between the lines. And for professional / work emails? Lol, never.
I tried Gmail's new AI Inbox. It's not for me; I am pretty rigorous about my email, so its AI-generated summaries and suggestions don't help me much. But I could see how it *could* be useful, and Google is probably going to put a lot of energy into making it better

Getting back to funky days with a CP80 vs VDrum (played live) session. I'm always blown away that I can just take all the techniques I learnt in analogue studios and apply them in this odd hybrid DAW space! Old habbits: if I need to scroll vertically there's too many tracks! EQs all in a rack :-P

Just finished 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle' and it was glorious.
It was like playing a film.
I had so much fun and realised I'm as much in love with Dr. Jones as I was when I first saw him back in the 80s.
Game review will follow one of these days, weeks or months.

The previous seasons have all been absolutely great, so I cannot wait for this new one (though, perhaps don't watch "Industry" on your morning commute - the show has a tendency to go fairly hardcore on showing human bits :)

I wouldn’t spend money on this, but got it for free at CES so here we go.

Not the actual size of Greenland ACTUALLY MATTERS, but for what it’s worth: if you’re American and you’re looking at typical American maps, prepare (yet again) to have reality deal you a disappointing blow.

Talk of annexation has Greenland in the news again. But due to quirks of cartography, some common maps show the territory much larger than it is.
How large is Greenland, really? Your map may be deceiving you

I used to play Two Dots a lot back in the day but stopped because it became an in-app purchase nightmare. Last week, I wanted another puzzle game on my phone for a bunch of travel so I re-installed it. IMMEDIATELY it became clear it had turned even more $$$-focused, but then I boarded a plane, and…
