For the past year, we've analyzed hundreds of primary sources spanning nearly a decade—emails, transcripts, texts, recordings, slides & other materials—revealing how a group of Silicon Valley elites sought to capture the psychedelic industry.

Amazing work by @neselsd.bsky.social and the rest of the @psymposia.bsky.social team reporting on SV hijacking of psychedelic research initiatives via takeover of nonprofits

This is your archetypal right wing tech-money influence network, documented with tons of primary sources

a person with zero experience in drug policy is now "drug czar".... historically, the job has mainly been propaganda

I mean, do what you want, but it is OK to have like one or two people who are selected for competence rather than loyalty. It’s OK to have someone who isn’t a friend of Sean Hannity. Honest.

Cool. Seems great.

Apparently, the administration just revoked any grants that have to do with media literacy or disinformation. After all, how can you control what a population thinks when people study and report on how the public may be fooled?

The email highlights vaccination & #COVID as subjects of disinfo study.

This message was sent with High importance. From: Sent: Wednesday,

Dear CORS Please review the highlighted text and indicate whether you have any contracts that fall within its scope that I administer for you. Please respond to me and not reply all.

Please respond by noon today.

Negative responses required.

Thank you.

Scope: Any contract support that "may be related to any form of censorship at all or directing people to believe one idea over another related to health outcomes - this could in particular include COVID prevention (masking) or COVID vaccine usage - but is not limited to COVID. So for example, any kind of contract with a media or social media organization to take down information off websites or social media. Any advertising for COVID vaccine uptake, or public health messages about dangers of COVID or not wearing masks, etc. Any contracts to promote COVID vaccine uptake. Any such contracts or grants to fight misinformation or disinformation in general. Please check for keyword 'media literacy', 'disinformation', 'social media,' 'misinformation,' 'social distancing,' 'lockdown' 'masks, etc. This should address any contract that could be used to "censor Americans" not just on COVID, but in general."

From the ruling: “…while the state’s experts disagree with the prevailing medical consensus [that trans healthcare for minors is acceptable and necessary]…the state did not present…any contrary evidence-based standards [to prevailing medical consensus] accepted by any…professional medical groups.”

“On Drugs” podcast recently produced an incredibly accessible episode on trans healthcare, featuring Samantha Rosenthal. I felt inspired to do a portrait of her.
