3 💡 conclusions from this @timeshighered.bsky.social piece based on @altmetric.com data:

1️⃣ Academic twitter is dead
2️⃣ Bluesky is the most promising alternative
3️⃣ There is a lot of underused 🦋 potential with many dormant (institutional) accounts

Can specialized physical therapy help you to live longer with Parkinson’s? What if physical therapy did more than improve balance and reduce falls? Specialized physical therapy, like that provided through the PDNet model linked to a modest but real reduction in mortality for people w/ Parkinson’s.

My significant other is doing a charity bike ride to raise money for @parkinsons.org.uk if any followers might care to donate.

He only took up road cycling last month and already my house is filled with Spandex 🤣

At least it's for a good cause 💗

"Should PPI be involved at every stage of the research process?" Will and his debate partner made a compelling case that PPI can become a tick box exercise if enforced rather than used more meaningfully. So No won despite the audience being pro-PPI.

Very relevant given the discussion around PPI at #ISPGR2025

How can you meaningfully assess experiences of patient and public involvement (PPI) in your organisation?

The 4Pi questionnaire is a new tool designed to help. In this blog, #PPI members, researchers & improvement staff reflect on its development & use.

It is so important to listen to patients when doing health research, and my own experiences as a patient are what make me passionate about being involved in it. Collecting data about the things we don’t know enough about can create great change. Hearing about the involvement experience itself is a very important part of that data collection process."

I am super excited to be back in Maastricht for @ispgr.bsky.social 2025 World Congress.

Gearing up for my oral presentation tomorrow 🗣 presenting findings from our novel @parkinsons.org.uk funded FDG-PET/MR and #gait study in #Parkinsons 🧠

It is indeed 😂 Apparently to be on his side of the debate, Will must be "a fossil, living under a rock"
