Chichester’s MP @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social asks a pertinent question in Parliament today:
How can the government’s housing requirements possibly be accommodated in our constituency when they are outside our recent approved and adopted Local Plan?
The minister doesn’t answer her question.
All areas, including the coastal strip between Chichester and Emsworth, must be able to derive some benefit and actively participate in the huge growth in housing numbers the government is imposing – not just absorbing its pressures.
Existing communities within the Oxford Cambridge Growth Corridor must be able to actively participate in and benefit from housing growth, rather than simply absorbing its pressures.

That's the point that I stressed in a debate on the Government's 'Ox-Cam Growth Corridor' ambitions last week.

Hopefully at least some of this will be used for the #ChEmRoute between Chichester and Emsworth that has been delayed for years.

Did you see Daisy Cooper @libdemdaisy.bsky.social on Question Time last night?
The silent majority of British people are crying out for politicians to come up with practical solutions on immigration.

That means recruiting more caseworkers, getting the backlog down, letting asylum seekers work and pay their way and creating safe and legal routes for refugees.

This Government has chosen to reject the single biggest thing it could do to turbocharge economic growth and repair the £90 billion Brexit black hole.

For millions of people struggling with higher bills this was a botched budget.

That #Brexit black hole hasn’t gone away…
This was a botched Budget by a Chancellor who’s diagnosed the disease but won’t administer the cure.

Despite promises to cut the cost of living and grow the economy, the Government still refuses to fix our trade relationship with Europe and repair the £90bn Brexit black hole.
