Windows 8's design being centered around those colored squares was absolutely awful. They chose some real rancid colors for those.

I really want to get back to Void Stranger and play it to completion, but I don't know if I have the patience for what I assume is needed to actually finish the game. Feels like there's a lot of points where you can get completely stuck because you never noticed something obscure earlier in the game

I don't know what it is yet, but something about Kirby Air Rider's ranked matches feels way better than just about any other multiplayer game I've played. I think the game puts a lot less focus on your losses? Either way this is probably the most I've played of an online mode since I was a teenager.

Best ones to try IMO are Kirby's Adventure, Superstar, Planet Robobot, and Forgotten Land. Air Riders is extremely good but is a game made for sickos which can be offputting

Kirby games are a great time and if you play enough of them and see Kirby kill enough world/universe ending godlike beings you get the Kirby lore brainworms

Anybody have any tips on racing in particular? I know what all gives you boosts but I'm routinely in the back of the pack and struggling to catch up, even when I'm trying to stick to people's star trails as much as possible.

I never played the first game, but I'm liking Kirby Air Riders a ton. I have a suspicion that most people racing online are people who played a lot of the first because I have no idea how to consistently get anything above 3rd place.
