Everyone was like "wow it's great not having digital signage boards at the Olympics" so NBC was like "hey wait a minute" and started putting their own ads on it. I'm not sure if that's actually allowed.

Texas MLS teams increase valuations but decrease in rankings
Sportico has released its annual valuation of the Major League Soccer teams and there was a mixed bag for the Texas based teams. While every team has increased in value, they all lowered in the ran…

Looks like Liz Truss met the President, so you know, maybe keep an eye on the news.

No worries peacock I wasn't watching that extra end of curling, feel free to throw ad after ad as we hit the final two stones, don't worry about it.

"oh 0.3 seconds that's not good" I say knowing full well I'd take 2.5 seconds minimum, or would do a massive false start.
"Slow reaction time," I said aloud to my tv, trying to force myself to forget the time in grammar school when we did the ruler drop reaction time test and the entire freaking ruler fell to the floor and the whole class turned to look at me

I'm sure this isn't possible but I'd love a mixed sliding relay - every sliding discipline back to back.

Sliding sports commentary in the US has been great but want to give a shout out to them calling out that Nordic Combined doesn't have a women's event and it'd be nice to have it

Huge penalty but I mean it was a HUGE false start, these things happen.
Valentina Margaglio jumps the start! And big too, a .93 second penalty added onto her run. It was a good run, but that time is just killed.

Mattia Gaspari is making his last competitive run of his career. Down ahead of Canada and into 5th.

Without that penalty they'd be into 2nd.

I laughed SO damn hard, this poor person
At 9:18, 3rd period of the Finland-Switzerland women's ice hockey QF game, the ice crew came to clean the ice during a pause

What follows is the funniest use of the slo-mo alternate angle tech I've seen them use during these Olympics of one of the crew members falling

Add Brazil to the list of countries that have a gold before Canada at these Winter Olympics, along with fellow green & gold wearers Australia.
South America snags their first goal in Winter Olympics history!
MEDALHA DE OURO BRASIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLL

Lucas Pinheiro Braathen becomes the first South American ever to win a medal in any Winter Olympic event!!!!!

Australia has won its third gold medal, so this is already Australia's most successful Winter Olympic Games

Somea Polozen switches her nationality from Sweden to Bosnia & Herzegovina so I would expect a call up to the full national team soon

By far my favorite part of NBC's coverage at these Olympics is the way they keep using Australian states like they're cities.

A whopping seven FIFA registration bans today. Libya's pain continues with one of them coming from Libya (Alnojoum Ajdabiya Club). AO Episkopis (Greece) is given an indefinite one. The others are all three periods to Al Najma (Bahrain), Tharos (Italy), Cooper (Uruguay), Kenpong (Ghana), Politehnica

Right up until the end you thought Scotty James had it, it's silver for him and that's Australia's best ever day at a Winter Olympic Games, a gold and a silver.
February 13, 2026 at 7:59 PM
Australia's Scotty James now guaranteed a medal. He'll be the first Australian to have three winter olympic medals.

Write to your member of congress and tell them to impeach all of these perjurers.
The concept of “lying under oath” is up for grabs right now. All the Trump SCOTUS judges did it about Roe. Kennedy did it to get his post. If one of these fuckers isn’t prosecuted it will be crystal clear that there are zero repercussions for doing so, and everyone will lie forever.

In his confirmation hearings, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told U.S. senators that he would not cut funding for vaccine research or change the nation's official vaccine recommendations. He did both. n.pr/46QDn9p

Scotty James with a hell of a second run, in second place, he didn't look satisfied. It would be Australia's best ever single day at the winter Olympics if it stays the same

The Arbiter went out of their way to say that they were sympathetic to Heaskevych's cause. And then yeah the accreditation issue.
CAS has denied the appeal of Vladyslav Heraskevych, stating that the helmet did violate the IOC Rule that limits freedom of expression on the field of play.

It did say that it was unfair for the IOC to remove his accreditation and expected the IOC to return it.

Story later today.
Some breaking news in the Vladyslav Heraskevych / IOC situation: Heraskevych has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to have him reinstated.

If reinstated, he would take two official runs tonight or tomorrow prior to the medal runs at around 7 PM CET

So CAS denied the appeal. Ultimately the ruling is that the IOC rules don't allow freedom of expression like this on the field of play. CAS ruling was that their hands are tied by IOC rules. Heraskevych didn't argue that others have also breached IOC rules so CAS couldn't rule based on that.
As one would probably expect, Ukrainian Skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych has filed a complaint with CAS. He's arguing the decision was disproportionate. As for what CAS could do? He's offered to do separate runs supervised by CAS. CAS are expediting this decision.
