ICE’s public violence should be a reminder that they commit brutal acts in private facilities too.

Every report has been horrific and we only have the smallest glimpse into the horrors.
2025 was ICE’s deadliest year in two decades. Here are the 32 people who died in custody
The deaths came as the Trump administration ramped up immigration enforcement, detaining a record number of people

Today is one of those days where I’m struck anew by how *bad* the internet has gotten. It’s almost unusable. Clouds, apps, advertising — nothing is where it should be and it’s nigh impossible sometimes to do basic tasks online.

Look at the hundreds of people in that community in Minneapolis who ran TOWARDS the danger. Look at those who documented in their heads what happened so they could accurately recount it afterwards, look at those currently out protesting. Pay attention & do your part too.

Human brains feed off of negativity. Negative thoughts are easily digested and play in a loop in your mind all of the time. The reality, however, is that there is also A LOT OF GOOD happening every single minute. You have to do more work to pay attention to the good but it's worth it.

I don't know, man. I thought being strong meant having the guts to own up to mistakes and admit when you're wrong. Being proudly wrong feels like it's inherently the coward's path.

New: I spoke with a Colombian asylum seeker who was the victim of a ‘Kavanaugh stop’ about what it was like to be racially profiled, abducted in front his family and held in ICE detention hours from home for more than a month—despite doing everything “the right way.”

This is Nick’s story.
The hell of being a target of a ‘Kavanaugh stop’

Yeah, like I get that people get a little carried away when they're fans of a politician. But this dude?!

People really need to get over this man. I truly cannot believe they haven't moved on after all this time.

Since I often have to teach my students about handling hazardous materials, sometimes I mention how there used to be a radium energy drink and a guy drank so much of it they had to bury him in a lead coffin.

I feel like we keep running into situations where the law is clear and makes sense, but there's no enforcement mechanism to make it matter. It's up to political appointees who are often put in place by the people doing illegal things.

His statement is one of the few I've seen that immediately denounces the attack, and doesn't start with a bunch of words about how Maduro is bad and illegitimate. It's refreshing, but also alarming how rare it is right now.

People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.
