The Steelers rediscovered big plays after a month in the wilderness, and just in the nick of time, too. Will they learn anything from it, though? Latest Nine Straight Threes is here.

They delivered a Big Boy Game on both sides of the ball when they needed one. Full marks.

I predicted Dolphins 20-17 w/ two TDs for Darren Waller so I am half a genius. Nostra. Or 'Damus, if you prefer.

Just get Miami's plane warmed up and sim the rest of this one if Jonnu is going to be making house calls on designed runs.

That taunting point of emphasis is extremely, extremely dumb.

Current Tua makes Kenny Pickett look like Kenny Stabler

I'm not one to go along with Tomlin's obsession with winning the turnover battle above all else, but it feels like that Tua INT on Miami's second possession really made a huge difference in this game, even with Miami holding a lead for most of the first half.

Rodgers can still rip it when he needs to, and Tua's never been able to. And that there is the difference in this game.

Feels like some cracks are starting to show for Miami's defense. Probably because they're frustrated that their quarterback might not start for Pine-Richland.
December 16, 2025 at 3:02 AM
There should be a 30 for 30 on how Tua ever got a $200m contract.

This is football the way Pudge Heffelfinger intended

Tua throws absolute lollipops out there. But that aside, Miami is hitting like they have something to prove.

20-17 Dolphins. No Watt, no Harmon, against a team that runs the hell out of the ball. Bad news!
December 16, 2025 at 12:03 AM
The "Tua hasn't won a game in temps under 40 degrees" thing is a little bit of a "fun with numbers" thing, because the gametime temp last week in the Meadowlands was 41 degrees.

The Steelers have a real chance to put the division away before Week 18, given the Ravens' still-brutal schedule. They could get to 9-7 and have Baltimore at 7-9. Handling business tonight is part 1 of the equation. Naturally, I am very concerned about their chances to do it.

Narrow the uprights. The easiest, simplest, most correct fix.
A 7-play, 26-yard drive to set up a go-ahead field goal, followed by a 5-play, 25-yard drive by the other team to go back ahead. C'mon man. This is the NHL shootout on a football field. It's not real ball

Just saw the Diego Pavia post-Heisman party. Seems like a pretty unlikable guy! I’d say he’s tanking his NFL stock, but that would require him having any in the first place.

This week the Penguins had:

A 3-2 lead with an offensive zone face-off, a power play, and 17 seconds to play.

A 5-1 lead with 14 minutes to play.

A 3-0 lead entering the third period.

They collected just three points and lost all three games.

That can't be tolerated.

🔮?
I am completely convinced that the Colts are gonna cover 13.5 against the Seahawks. This level of conviction, coupled with my considerable self-awareness of how stupid I am, is one reason I rarely bet on sports.

1pm NFL slate? No, I’m sorry, there are driveways (plural) to be shoveled.

Also Alex and I picked a good day to take down the deck TV, cover the furniture, and pick up, in total, 11 bags of frozen dog shit.

(I bet you can guess who performed that last task)

Navy receiver Eli Heidenreich just broke the single season receiving yards record for Navy, a record which stood unbroken since 1967.

That record? Rob Taylor for 818 yards in a season.

Eli Heidenreich has 861 and counting.
