More aptly, what is the science of science in your book? Is there a better definition than Von Foerster’s?

When this "AI" bubble pops, the men pretending they weren't pushing the hype, like "critics" whose position is "AGI is real but LLMs aren't the way," who were in eugenicist and "AI existential risk"🙄 circles, will get specials discussing what they saw coming, when its the women who told you so.

I personally believe anthropomorphism of software is Very Unhealthy and has Very Bad nth order effects. Also, using transduction (machine translation or summarization) has valuable use cases, when certain standards and guardrails are respected.
Feels like a lot of folks conflate real harms commensurate with the perverse incentives latent in the current AI hype cycle with the type of technology (transduction software) and its capabilities.

Anyhow, this was an outta nowhere conversation that was fun. Tempted to explore one or more topics further in a more structured format. What resonates with you?

Our Human in the Loop operations is really about quality. It’s making sure that there’s a quality bar in automation to maintain trust with our users and customers. Complete automation isn’t some badge of honor. But maintaining quality is.

Happy 30th Birthday JavaScript!

On December 4, 1995, Netscape Communications Corporation and Sun Microsystems, announced JavaScript, an open, cross-platform object scripting language for the creation and customization of applications on the Internet.

There are all these articles written about how to run Design Reviews. When Reviews go awry it’s bc: there is a lack of clarity on the goals, the hypothesis (why this over that), trade offs, and depth of knowledge from varying altitudes. You can shape the review based on these.

(i just renamed the app folder where i keep all the transduction engines i test regularly from Assistants to Transduction because i am that level of petty)
Popular software systems that use GPT — generative pre-trained transformer — architectures belong to a class of software we could label "transduction engines" (and be correct in doing so). Modern search engines are in the same class.

Apropos of something, anyone know who owns the authenticatedtransfer.com domain? #atproto

This is what I'm thinking, too. Until PDS adoption is ubiquitous, a flagship shared account picker experience could be a boon to atproto brand recognition and adoption.
Create a charitable foundation whose sole purpose is to host a secure intermediate page that remembers what atproto login you used last time, and then bounces you back to whoever sent you there.

I’m sort of kidding but sort of not
