Sort of good but mostly not. They still want to close 3 languages completely. And teaching-only contracts at basic starting salary grade 6, no research-led teaching, no culture/hist/lit modules on lang degrees. No confirmation on how many T&R in MLANG to be saved.

After the deliberations, the students nominated their winner and then attended the presentation ceremony at the French Ambassador’s residence. I was so proud of our students' enthusiasm and amazing input!

Last week, I accompanied 2 Cardiff students to London for the Choix Goncourt programme. With students from 14 other UK universities, they discussed the 4 French novels nominated for the Prix Goncourt.

Studying Francophone identities with students this year, focusing on stories from New Caledonia, quebecois music, & Côte d'Ivoire art. 2 students gave a presentation on Ivoirian artist Aboudia, & interviewed him on Instagram for the presentation! I don't know whether to be more impressed or jealous!
