I was shot on the street with a paintball gun once. It hurt like hell and was also terrifying—I thought I had been shot with a bullet. My back was sore and bruised for days.
I have never understood why that opening quote is so famous. IMO, if happy families even exist, they are not all alike.

I have to rebuild a similar buttonhole for a 1936 tuxedo jacket that was attacked by a dry cleaner, so I’m very grateful for these pix (and that Bluesky now has bookmarks).
The Lucy Van Pelt shocker seems like reason enough in itself.
It says “do all acts and things”[!] for copyright and such “at the Landlord’s expense.” So, the one thing not charged the tenant.

So ridiculous. The concept of an employer owning a worker’s output is based on the idea that the employer is paying the employee for the work, not the other way around.
