It’s possible this pattern has existed for a while. 2024 was the first year this survey measured both trust and political leaning together, but other studies have found similar associations. Some good news: the vast majority still trusted scientists!
Trust in scientists for cancer info is now tied to political leaning in the U.S.

"Estimated probabilities of high trust ranged from 93.7% among liberal respondents to 70.5% among very conservative respondents."
