NO ONE FORMS POLITICAL IDEAS FROM WHAT THEY SEE IN THE WORLD.

THEY FORM POLITICAL IDEAS FROM WHAT THEY HEAR FROM OTHER PEOPLE.

There are many, many, many important implications of this!!

Yeah the affordability nonsense is an even-vaguer-than-usual reformulation of the same economic policy message Dems have run on as long as any of us have been alive. The reason it has suddenly started working is that there’s a deeply unpopular incumbent and inchoate doomerism everywhere.
Variations of economic justice is what Democrats have run on for generations. If you mean more specific proposals, then the versions vary based on time and location. The strength of Dem victory just recently is because Trump is President and Dems now have high propensity voters.

What’s the legality of doing joint federal campaign - media foundation fund raisers?

I’d love to see the billions of dollars working folks hurl at candidates every 2 years become a lasting endowment for left wing media rather than being hovered up by consultants and the ad tech companies.

Remarkable that the only person JD Vance shows consistent loyalty to is the least likable man in America.

Vance describes hearing Theil do some Randian monologue as “the most significant moment” of his time at Yale.
He met his wife there.
you're telling me a right-wing catholic convert is just a protestant in disguise? shocked
In newly leaked audio, Peter Thiel admits he urged JD Vance to ignore Pope Leo XIV on moral questions — including the ethical development of AI.

He goes even further, branding Leo “the woke American pope” and suggesting he’s a tool of the Antichrist.

this dumb shit is what i mean when i say this is a purely aesthetic “politics.” yeah man, why can’t we have a fusion of cosmopolitan social democracy and revanchist hierarchies of wealth and privilege? tough question.

I don’t think Velasquez retiring from her NY-7 seat changes the calculation. No, we cannot take that seat for granted, but it’s DSA’s to lose. The key is to move quickly. Using this tactic to try to freeze out Lander was ridiculous, but it should be used against Reynoso.

This is true on policy. The reason reactionary centrists refuse to accept it (besides that she lost) is that for all her moderation she did not show contempt for the Democratic coalition, its cosmopolitan nature and egalitarian values. They don’t want policy moderation they want hippy punching.
She ran as a moderate. Maybe you think that’s good and maybe you think that’s bad. All I am arguing is that the endless takes about how Democrats should pivot to the center should explain why it didn’t work in this election (there are good reasons!) rather than pretending she didn’t.

At this point the most exculpatory explanation possible of the known facts is that Trump knew about Epstein's rape of minors and eagerly swept to continue exploiting them as malleable victims as soon as they hit the threshold of majority.
