The pathetic thing (one of them) about Micheál Martin's appeal to the Ó Dónaill and Dinneen dictionaries is that he clearly had to skip past "lie" to get to his preferred pedantic definitions.

'What makes Trump noteworthy is his refusal to maintain the pretense of a “rules-based international order.” Unlike previous administrations, which cloaked imperial ambitions in diplomatic language, Trump openly treats allies with the same contempt traditionally reserved for the Global South.'

"When the real opposition tried to object to this state of affairs, Micheál Martin described it as... a ‘subversion of the Constitution’. Sort of like when you take your child’s Playstation away because they won’t do their homework and they accuse you of violating their human rights."
'“We know we need a hell of a lot more homes,” Harris said, performing that trick he does where he tries to sound emphatic and energetic (“You ain’t seen nothing yet”) in order to distract from a government performance that is anything but.'

A reminder that in 2010 the Bloody Sunday inquiry found

- the killings were unjustified
- none of the 14 dead (7 of whom were children) had guns
- no warnings were given
- no soldiers were under threat
- the troops were the first to open fire

43 years on, we await the first prosecution.

Galway 1-4 to Armagh's 0-5 at half-time and I think Galway have only scored one point from play.

Not a great game to watch so far, time to switch over to Tyrone v Derry.
