Seems such a lie. The PM wants that territory regardless

"This is supposed to be an oversight hearing" -- Schiff helpfully ticks through all of the incriminating questions -- and there are many of them -- that Bondi refused to answer during today's hearing

Juvenile Etroplus canarensis are the ultimate curious and gorgeous small cichlid ever 🙌🏼😍

With a new Paretroplus species described in the damii group (Paretroplus risengi), it’s imperative to keep declining species from becoming altogether extinct #dtmf

Such a wonderful but arduous endeavor. I wonder what continent was closely associated (Pangea specifically) to the area where Tiktaalik was found

The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has undergone some dramatic upgrades to their freshwater and marine tanks. It is an even more amazing place to visit- obviously their Madagascar collection could be bigger 🥲

Years ago, 20 yrs, I had no clue these fish would be endangered or extinct. What does it mean to you to go through generational amnesia and forget what used to exist?

Few specimens of Paretroplus nourissati remain in captivity, in fact, no large institution in the world keeps the species. With a rapidly declining wild population, every spawn of this species is a gift

One of the most intriguing cichlids is this impressive Heterochromis multidens, males have an impressive nuchal hump. Iris coloration is also different between males and females

Good question. Captive populations are relatively young

Pachypanchax species appear to be susceptible to lymphocystis infections (LCVD), an iridovirus that infects fish and amphibians. This Pachypanchax male developed what appears to be melanoma. Iridoviruses can infect melanophores causing a marked expression of pigmentation, only males are infected

These are from Michael Negrini. The collection was from the Sambirano River

When you are brightly colored while breeding and hunting fish-eatbirds are about, spawning in a cave is a survival skill. Paretroplus damii guarding a nest as a cave spawner 😍

Thank you 😍 it’s a cryptocoryne, not sure the species

It’s been a warm summer and setting new mops may help kick the breeding season in high gear for Pachypanchax patriciae

There is no reason for the cost, it keeps aquarists from having access to these magnificent fish

In 4 years, menarambo will be sexually mature and yes, around 25 cm

AOC: "On this point of tax on tips, as one of the only people in this body who has lived off of tips, I want to tell you a little bit about the scam ... the cap on that is $25,000 while you're jacking up taxes on people who make less than $50,000 across the US ... while kicking them off the ACA."

Yes menarambo get fairly large, 40 cm is about right as the maximum size. 125 gallons is a tight squeeze, you may be able to keep just a couple menarambo mixed with kieneri or a Ptychochromis

Depends on the species. Deep bodied damba do fine with just a few. Rheophillic damba do best in larger groups 10 and up. Kieneri group only needs a few as well. Tank size is the primary limiting factor

It takes time. A lot of time but it will be worth it
