You don’t get to call this “law and order” while ICE raids occur near schools and houses of worship, violates court orders, and scares parents into guarding school doors. Even Republicans are saying it’s unacceptable. Enforce the law—but due process matters, and chaos doesn’t make us safer.

This is sad, but good: Artists are refusing to normalize this idiocy, and instead of just commanding performances - which they can't do - the Trump people are closing it down and slinking away.
CNN is reporting the real reason Trump is closing the Kennedy Centre for two years is not for renovation: “the Kennedy Center does not have a 2026/2027 season. There would not have been any programming to announce."

criminal law prof here. There are laws against homicide, and federal agents are not in fact above them. Supremacy clause immunity is limited in scope, not an absolute barrier to state prosecution.
The death of Alex Pretti has been ruled a homicide, the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office said. Pretti was shot Jan. 24 during a chaotic encounter with federal immigration officers in Minneapolis. Jesus Ochoa and Raymundo Gutierrez were named as the two officers who fired at Pretti.
