A joyous picture book biography of José Sarria, a pioneering activist, drag queen, and the first openly gay candidate to run for public office in the United States. So honored that this is my picture book illustrator debut!

Comic book writers are lovely, creative, collaborative people! With great vision! But I cannot stress enough these projects cannot exist without artistic skill and visual narrative practice bringing the story to life. And time. It takes time. It takes more hours of an artist's life to create a book.
