If I ever get the chance to interview Paul Thomas Anderson, I'd love to know why phone calls in his films are SO STRESSFUL.

Can we begin the Benecio del Toro Oscar campaign now? Such a cool, controlled force in the chaos of DiCaprio's frayed live wire desperation.

My favorite film of #FantasticFest so far- "When We Were Live".

"Killing Spree" aka "Folies Meurtrieres"- one of the repertory films at #FantasticFest. The slasher film widdled down to its most base element of stalker and prey.

#FantasticFest film #1, Eugene Green's "The Tree of Knowledge". I was completely on board his mannered wavelength. Thoughts upcoming at Dallas Film Now

"Relay" is really, really good. Taut direction and a sure handed script with just the right whiff of paranoid '70's aroma.

After slogging through so many mid films so far this year, I've watched 2 masterpieces in the last week- "Eephus" and "She Rides Shotgun". C'mon film!

Read 6 of these. I'm curious, did you see and your thoughts on Norton's adaptation of "Motherless Brooklyn". I seem to be the only one who loves it and hold it as one of the best films of its year.

Love both of these films so much. Wish novelist Paul Auster was tapped for more adaptations.

Been looking for a copy of Samuel Fuller's "A Third Face" memoir for years. Picked one up last week. Man, this is a wonderful, hardboiled jaunt through old newspaper and old Hollywood in Fuller's clipped manner of speaking. Looking forward to re-watching all his films again as I read about each one.

Robbery Homicide Division. Amazing show. Some episodes exist in shoddy You Tube type uploads, but that's it.
