📣What do we want?

🗣️The political will for evidence-based policies that would reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by diverting money away from fossil fuels, like industrial carbon pricing, climate-aligned finance, and methane regulations!

📣When do we want it?

🗣️Now!
“When you’re seven, climate action isn’t just policy, it’s a promise.”

18-year-old Sophia Mathur started her journey as a climate activist at age 7. Do you want to keep the promise to youth like Sophia? Join us to advocate for a better world!

"Disinformation is a sabotage tactic; the fossil fuel industry and algorithm-driven social media platforms are amplifying lies, eroding democracy, and delaying climate action."

As we near the end of COP30, whose voices are we listening to? Those whose future lies in the balance, or those with the most money to make?

18-year-old Sophia Mathur recently shared her experience at COP27 with MP Shannon Miedema (shown here) and the rest of the parliamentary ENVI committee!

🏛️ Parliamentary and ministerial staff play such an important role in our democracy, and we’re so grateful for all that they do! We’re especially grateful to the staff members who took the time to meet with volunteers from CCL Canada and our partner organizations last month!

🗞️Yesterday, two CCL members had letters published in the Globe and Mail on the importance and urgency of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, with our without an emissions cap for the oil and gas sector. Check out the letters here:
‘Emissions reduction … we can’t abandon ship every time fossil fuel companies or certain provinces make a fuss.’ Letters to the editor for Nov. 17
In today’s letters to the editor: floor-crossing; Teck Resources; emissions cap; bar exams; Canada Post; Republicans and Democrats

I recommend that you take the time to read what Sophia Mathur told MPs. I support her message: Make Polluters Pay. MPs need to listen to youth, they will be stuck with the mess caused by climate change and that is just not fair.

🍁Donna, our group leader in Milton, was recently invited by her MP @avankoeverden.bsky.social to speak at a post-Budget announcement. These are a few of the very wise words she had to say!

🌳People have power! Politicians are elected by the people, so they need to hear from the people! That’s why last month, over 50 volunteers from across Canada came to Ottawa and met with their MPs on Parliament Hill to talk climate solutions.

Ontario’s Climate Accountability on the Chopping Block
THIS HAS HUGE IMPLICATIONS

Eloquent truth to power example from Canada.

I wonder what misinformation is cooked for the UK budget ?
We don't have a rebated carbon tax for them to lie about.

Maybe just tax EVs a bit more ? Who knows what they've lobbied for.
"Well on the topic of misinformation, it's obvious that misinformation regarding climate policies does benefit a certain sector."
