Yes. It may well have the effect of increasing conviction rates (case-hardened judges may be more likely to convict than juries), but that’s not the motivation. It’s cost-cutting.

Does anyone routinely explain to men that having a beard can make face mask ventilation more difficult?
There’s not much you can do about filler (other than have a plan B,C&D) but you can shave a beard.
