Conan the Barbarian#25 by @jimzub.bsky.social and Alex Horley serves as a good onboarding point for anyone new, it works as a self contained story, but it's also a clever meta story with jaw-dropping artwork!

OH! I just remembered a snatch of a dream from a few days ago. My mum has gone fully woo-woo, like "Opening a reiki place, doing angel therapy" woo-woo. Not my vibe, but do you mum. That part is real, not the dream. The dream was that she WROTE A COMIC ABOUT IT for me, to help me understand it!

You know what? This is really, really nicely done. I'm all about stakes, emotion, motivation and character depth. But when it's done just right, I do love me a spectacular fight. This sets up the potential for LOTS of them, and it goes VERY hard with justifying why this is happening.

So fun!

"Some of the best T.V. ever filmed" might sound like hyperbole but... It's definitely some of the best I've ever seen. I went in thinking "Ugh, vampires and gay romance, this is going to be full of cliches and overused tropes." I was expecting gay Underworld, really.

I'm so troubled by the tiktok accounts which are just parents using their children for "content." It's really... yucky. I can't imagine what having a phone constantly in their face does to a very young child.
But... THEY ARE FUCKING ADORABLE.

One of my preschool class kids has this bad ass spider-man bag! The embroidered web is really nice! I kinda want one myself! Always makes me smile to see superheroes here in Japan.

I want it to exist, and sometimes you have to make something if you want it to exist. All that said though, I'm not trans, nor do I know any trans people currently. I don't feel...Qualified? To write anything like that. I don't have the experience to draw from or anyone to ask.

And "He" has those who support him, and those who are mad that he's allowed to be a magical GIRL when he's clearly a boy. But wearing the dress feels right to them, and having been selected as a magical girl teaches them about themselves. I mean it's not a CLEVER allegory, but...

I wanted to write a comic about magical girls for a long time, because it's a trope filled genre that I love the aesthetics of but generally don't vibe with plot wise. Now the idea changed into... What if a "boy" became a magical girl. Because he's a girl, on the inside.
