On Laval's Montée Saint-Francois, floodlights and barbed wire mark the sprawl of a prison complex that exists to warehouse human beings. New Year's Eve 2025: hundreds filled cars and buses, then marched to renew a tradition that breaks across the shadows of their walls and the silence of isolation.

& put in hand and toe warmers before you're actually cold. Carry vinegar spray and antacid mix bottles inside your jacket so they don't freeze up.

Keep your neckwarmer pulled up to cover your nose and your beanie down as low as possible above your eyes at all times. Wear your own warm layers beneath a nondescript dark windbreaker that can be discarded if necessary. "Magic gloves" from the dollar store are your friend and avoid leaving prints.

Winter bloc applies the same concepts as black bloc, with seasonal adjustments, beginning by ditching the tshirt mask in favor of a tuque [beanie] and neckwarmer combo or balaclava...
