Max’s mom: „Desert Hearts“, it’s about two women in a desert.

Chloe gets red.

Chloe: I… have to go to the bathroom!!

Chloe leaves the living room in a rush. Then she pokes her head through the door, looking at Max. Beat.

Max: I’ll, uh…

Max leaves, too.

In the garage, Chloe runs in circles, while Max watches her, concerned.

Chloe: What do they know?! Did you say anything? Did I say anything?!

Second page.

Max: Maybe it’s time we tell them.

Chloe: If they kick us out… I’m gonna kick their asses first!!

Max: What if it’s gonna be okay? She wanted to watch a lesbian movie with us, couldn’t that mean they’re supportive?

Chloe: What if she wants to watch it to make fun of them?!

Later, back in the living room. Max and Chloe and Max’s parents are sitting on the sofas. Max is holding Chloe’s hand.

Max’s mom: Oh. If you were trying to hide it, you didn’t do a very good job.
