Expect normal people in all walks of life to believe pseudoscience, paranormal claims, and conspiracy theories. Most people do! But everyone’s different too. One might believe in ghosts, but not Bigfoot, or vice versa. Some people believe a ton such claims, some only believe one or two. Zero is rare

Breaking News: The CDC quietly appointed Dr. Ralph Lee Abraham, who has been critical of vaccines, as its second in command. During the Covid pandemic, he promoted discredited treatments like ivermectin and, as Louisiana’s surgeon general, halted the state’s mass vaccination campaign.

Hands down my favorite classical music piece is The Aquarium by Camille Saint-Saens. The whole Carnival of the Animals is beautiful but this one hits me hard.

Circumcision rates in the US are falling. This JAMA Peds paper opens with a pretty glaring error. AAP did not begin recommending circumcision in 2012. They published a position paper that said it was okay if parents request it and it should be covered by insurance.

Though the music isn’t quite as good as Glen Hansard’s contributions to Once, because nobody is better than Glen Hansard, Sing Street is one of my favorite movies. I can watch it over and over. It’s just so sweet and fun. And also the music is pretty amazing.

I always get a kick out of scenes like this one from Hallmark’s Three Wisest Me. This is a dad, and an ED doctor for some reason, showing his newborn twins off to family in the waiting room literal minutes after delivery. It gets worse but I’ll spare you.

Terrible. Formula is an extremely rare cause of infant botulism, so hopefully this won’t be used to shame any mothers for their feeding choice.

Honey is often a focus when it comes to botulism, and it should be avoided with infants. But the most common cause is exposure to soil.
