Recycling is cheaper for towns — and the taxpayer — than solid waste disposal. So it’s in every resident’s interest to recycle as much as possible.

Disposing of leftover food products wastes money and pollutes our environment. Zero Waste Massachusetts, a coalition of MASSPIRG, Community Action Works, @theclf.bsky.social, and Clean Water, has been calling for food diversion for years.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE: Our #ZeroWaste partnership with Newton schools continues! We helped sort waste at the THRIVE 2025 conference of teachers along with Newton student volunteers and local leaders. This partnership began when a student wanted to fight cafeteria food waste. The kids are alright!

The Saugus trash incinerator is the oldest in the nation. Clean Water joined neighbors to call on Home Depot to dump toxic packaging and materials, to reduce the toxic pollution that comes from burning PVC.

Heat pumps don’t burn fossil fuels, but instead pull warmth from the air or ground. Even in freezing climates they stay more efficient than gas or oil systems, and some of the world’s coldest countries have the most heat pumps per household. 🔥⚡️
