Went to parent-teacher evening. Classroom whiteboard showing stock market widgets.

In a PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Schools: ditch Windows bloat, try Linux. Free, customizable, no corporate nonsense. Just tools built for learning, not trading desks.

From Europe 🌍, the US 🇺🇸 political news feels alarming. I’d love to understand better from people who live there 💬 — how does it feel on the ground? 🤔 #USPolitics #Democracy

I consider myself a #privacy advocate, but lately I’m trading privacy for better outcomes with #AI tools like Claude.

The results are genuinely impressive.

How do you navigate the tension between AI benefits and privacy concerns?

I do but it was not active when I was connecting to the train wifi. I have as well a weird DNS setup.

Love #NixOS for everything - laptop, servers, you name it. But here I am on a train, captive portal won’t show, spent an hour troubleshooting wifi.
NixOS’s weak spot: unplanned situations. How do you handle the unexpected when reproducibility can’t save you? 🚂💻

🤦‍♂️ Lost valuable data, including my bookmark collection.

The real lesson? A working backup strategy isn’t a feature, it’s a foundation. Next stop: #ZFS.

🌴 On holiday, enjoying my time off.
🚨 Alert: Segfault on a Homelab VM.
🤖 Me: “Hey #AI, can you fix this?”
AI: “Sure!”
• Deletes persistent volumes 💣
• Wipes the VM drive 💥
• Tries a backup to a full disk, fails silently 🤫

Tu veux sûrement dire l’équipe de @kagi.com ?

Could this concept help navigate #copyright issues? 📜 By buying “books,” consumers could legally customize their AI models, tailoring them with purchased components.

I only have a basic understanding of #LLM and #AI, but I wonder:

Is it feasible to combine models like pieces in a puzzle?

📚🤔 Could models be sold with/like books, contributing to a grander composition? Just a thought—if it were possible, it might have already been suggested. #MachineLearning

What does `I would like to receive information via email related to my use of Microsoft Learn` means in this context? Do I receive only privacy update or I am subscribing to notifications? It looks like it is required 😳
Screenshot from learn.microsoft.com showing a checkbox with `I would like to receive information via email related to my use of Microsoft Learn. To learn more about how Microsoft handles your personal data please visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.` the checkbox is unchecked. And an error saying `Please agree to the Privacy Statement.`

What is happening right now?

ChatGPT/OpenAI outage for 3 hours

Heroku down for 4 hours (even their status page is down!) NVIDIA dev docs as well (runs on Heroku)

Pipedrive (CRM) issues for 4 hours

What else is down… and are these connected? Something started 4 hours ago…

Oh, and do not jump on large, noisy power-hungry machines.

Reflecting on my self-hosting journey: I’ve tried Docker, Proxmox with LXC/VMs, Kubernetes, HassOS, CasaOS, and now NixOS. 🚀 While starting over often, I find there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. Mix and adjust your stack per service, then commit to it! 🌟

I love that those messages were always shown on DVDs and Blu-rays that were rightfully purchased.

I just found your article and talk about the topic. This is precisely what I want to achieve. I still have one blurry point. How do you deploy the VMA? I did not find a simple declarative way to do it.

Je ne l’ai pas vu, du coup je veux la voir 😅. Surtout après avoir vu le teaser sur TikTok.

The AI world is rapidly evolving, with new models popping up every week. However, there is a problem: we have no standard to talk to them. Standardization will allow anyone to easily evaluate and use different models and ways to run models. I wrote down some of my thoughts on this topic:
Can someone create an LLM standard?

Tried Cursor as a Neovim user but didn’t feel like I was missing much thanks to Avante.

Now I’m testing Windsurf—and WOW. Agents that think like developers by retrieving context or searching the web step by step is next level.

I NEED this in Neovim!

I realized that while I love Tailscale for connecting anything. I should not use it for my Home🏡.
I have Unifi at home. Using Tailscale feels like duplication. I feel now having two networks.

I would be better to setup VLANs and ACL on Unifi and having #WireGuard setup there. #selfHosting #Homelab

Is there a plugin at @raycast.com that allows me to do the following:

Write: `Remind me in 5 minutes`

Then, 5 minutes later, I receive a notification. When I click on it, it redirects me to the app or URL that was in focus when I set the reminder.

Relying on AI to quickly program makes me feel like I’m losing my ability to design solutions. I usually take this route when I’m tired, but still… it’s unsettling. #AI #CodingLife #DeveloperThoughts #TechReflections

Tried taking a shortcut with AI for a quick Python script. Ended up in a mess of outdated code and dependency version conflicts. Painful back-and-forth—shortcuts aren’t always quicker! #Python #AI #CodingLife #DevProblems #AutomationFails
