Justice Alito is recusing from a case against Big Oil companies because he has a financial interest in ConocoPhillips.

But he has been inconsistent in recusing from climate deception cases where Conoco has an interest.

One such case — from Boulder, Colorado — is now being considered by SCOTUS.
Justice Alito has (belatedly) recused himself from a case being argued next week because of stock ownership conflict:

A year ago today, Los Angeles was devastated by a series of wildfires that climate change, driven by the burning of fossil fuels, made 35% more likely.

As communities struggle to recover, California’s efforts to hold Big Oil accountable in court for its climate lies remain more important than ever.

How about instead of using taxpayer dollars to pay Big Oil to redevelop Venezuela's fossil fuel infrastructure, we make Big Oil pay for the billions of dollars in damage their climate lies have caused to U.S. infrastructure? 🤔

Here's a better idea: Let's make Big Oil companies — not U.S. taxpayers — pay for the enormous damages their climate deception has caused to infrastructure and communities.
In an interview with NBC News, President Trump suggests U.S. taxpayers could reimburse oil companies for improving Venezuela’s energy infrastructure:
