Yet another late adopter to a social media platform my children will mock me for using.
"Do you ever wish James Taylor had a fandom like Jimmy Buffett?"
"What would you call Margaritaville? Her Town?"

I keep thinking of Kash Patel bragging about how this job got him his first girlfriend.

He's in his 40s. And I'm not going to argue whether or not she is gold digging - that's reductive and inherently kinda sexist. Status IS attractive to many people.

If someone mashed up Smooth and Uptown Funk nothing else would ever play at wedding receptions again.

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

Anybody remember how the Leave it to Beaver sequel series was treated like a fucking joke for YEARS?

And now that's just expected? Legacy sequels to sitcoms that ended DECADES earlier? Sitcoms (that most disposable of art forms) treated like IP?

Time was, you got a reboot movie with cameos. Maybe.

Imagine being so underwater that you go on the air to rant about people laughing at you, implementing the Hunger Games, declaring war on foreign nations, taking multiple naps during your own press conferences, and still you can't fill the hole inside of you.

The best thing about Jellystone was that it made two creative decisions that really made it feel cohesive to how history is going to recall the legacy of Hanna-Barbera beyond Scooby-Doo.

1 - Yes, Ruby-Spears is Hanna-Barbera.

2 - Yes, Cartoon Network Studios is Hanna-Barbera.

I'm no great fan of Starship, but I'm going to tell you that as a writer, I recognize craft.

I will NEVER write anything as good as the phrase "knee-deep in the hoopla."

Before you argue with someone online, ask yourself this.

Why are you arguing with someone who has an AI profile picture? Even if they're not a bot, they're still BASICALLY a bot.

I love Trans-Siberian Orchestra, because every time I listen to TSO it feels like an incredibly elaborate joke being pulled (possibly on Mannheim Steamroller) that has never, ever blinked.

The best things are jokes that never blink. Things become awesome when they are unabashedly silly.

I dream that one day human language evolves so much that historians all make us sound like Carl from ATHF because that's a snooty, erudite voice now.

This administration has been like if Christian Rock became president and Christian Movies became vice president and they’re always on tv shouting CHRISTIAN ROCK IS BIGGER, BETTER and more POPULAR than REGULAR ROCK! THIS IS MAINSTREAM CULTURE NOW! and it just keeps being not true but they won’t stop.

"What's Williams Sonoma?"
"Crate and Barrel for even richer people."

See, this is my personal theory of wealth.

Wealth is "the luxury of being able to afford extravagant packaging." Everything I buy comes in pretty basic becky designs. I can't afford to buy things that are pretty.

You guys know that one day there are going to be Oxfordists about the authorship of the Beatles songs, right? Classist reasons especially, but maybe also age.

"Two tiny uwu babies like Lennon and McCartney, from a LIVERPOOL background, could NEVER have written all those songs..."

People become billionaires because they have a desperate, fanatical need to be loved.

Mark Cuban was serving an underutilized segment of the population - neolibs who still want "a good billionaire."

Fundies being all "THIS IS WHY JESUS IS COMING BACK" never fails to make me laugh.

Guys, isn't that what you want? Shouldn't you be encouraging us to sin?

Prompt engineering around guidelines is basically just LOL JK.... UNLESS...?! with a robot.

You're flirting with a robot so you can have Shatterstar make out with Rictor. Something he already does.

There is a sect of nerd in the public domain space who seem incapable of creating expies.

They EXPLICITLY need to use a PD character for every slot in the roster, no matter how torturous the logic or convoluted it is. The notion of creating their own OC seems to make them bluescreen.

I love that.

I've been studying "trance voice" (which is like two steps of bunk above neuro-linguistic programming, since it applies public speech rhetoric to cults), and my prior "AI is accidentally designed to brainwash people by lulling them into a sub-hypnotic suggestible state" thing is really bearing out.

The way Murdoch handles Trump between the WSJ and Fox makes total sense when you realize he's a classist.

He thinks poor people are stupid, so media for poor people treats Trump like he's smart. He thinks rich people like him are smart, so media for them treats Trump like he's a moron.

Watching the entire political apparatus of a party of elected officials close ranks and contort themselves to serve the whims of a man with obvious dementia is slightly more funny than it is pathetic, but not by much.
