I know that feel. Some day I might even use some of them, too 😆
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
Looking forward to seeing the complete build I am.
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
Thank you! And I try... Not always great at that, though - sometimes I forget that I'm not 20 any more.
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
And thank you, as always, for being so appreciative! Unfortunately no feline friends in this one - they wisely stayed away 😉
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
Clearly the staff at ABS News didn't get that memo 😆
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
And of course, I've just now posted new build and must now crash out (Saturday/Sunday was one day for me... again 😆). But I will get back on here later, promise ❤️

Eek 30+ notifs. Sorry I've not replied to anyone this last couple of weeks. Been majorly stressed, which tends to make me retreat from the world. I will get back to anyone who commented on the last two Lego posts. I posted stuff then zonked out, lost my momentum. Been crazy tired, damn fibro.
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
I feel like I should note that the black drums w. skull and crossbones and red goop are not actually Lego, just in case anyone accuses me of 'polluting' my builds. I do have a select few custom-printed items (mostly food), and so on, as well as BrickArms Star Wars weapons. No fake-Lego, though 😜
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
And finally, a couple of bonus shots. I made a lift-off lid so some light might be introduced to the top of the outlet pipe as it might be a pain to photograph. A small green LED lamp somehow became a laser pointer. That's also how Steve's red goop was lit.

+obligatory nod to last week's entry.
A view across the river, into the green goop outlet, here made even more outrageously green by means of a green laser pointer shone (shined?) down through the top of the hill, behind the tree - I made a well over the back of the pipe, with a piece of the ground that could be lifted off. Trying to be helpful for my photographer. I'm sure she despairs at some of the ridiculous things I build with nary a thought for how much of a bastard they'll be to photograph well, given Lego is already 'fun' enough to get good pics of. Another view of the laser-illuminated outlet pipe, closer in and slightly to the side so that some of the heap of toxic waste drums are visible - along with Steve, looking like an overly-excitable puppy with a highly radioactive ball.

All the team started off as the Collectable Minifigure Hazmat Guy. I like my figs to be individuals so I swapped the heads on three of 'im.
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
And of course there is more. Not least because the lovely @kayelem23.bsky.social had fun photographing this one, so there's a few more pics than usual.

I can't help thinking @funranium.bsky.social would have something to say about the conduct of this lot. Well, Steve at least. Don't be like Steve.
A four-pane image focussing on one of the hazmat crew in particular. I'm sure he shouldn't be pulling lids off random drums of illegally-dumped radioactive waste and who knows what else. Steve knows no fear, however. I'm not sure he knows much else either. He looks far too excited to have uncovered some highly-frisky, glowing red goop. If it's 'hot' enough to glow, Steve, I really don't think you should be hanging your bonce over it, even if it is already empty. About the only thing nagging at what passes for his brain is why he can taste metal... Meanwhile, on the opposite bank of the river, an intrepid journalist is hot on the case, having received a tip-off about an unfolding environmental disaster. Maybe this will be the scoop that nets her a Pulitzer and brings down the unscrupulous chemical behemoth, Bricksanto. In this four-pane image we see her giving a live report to camera, microphone in hand. I'm really not sure she and her cameraman should be this close to the site of some really nasty radioactive waste. Not when it's glowing like kryptonite. A four-pane image of the other two members of the hazmat team. Our chap investigating the effluent discharge does not look at all happy. Given how luminously green that stuff is, and the ominous way it bubbles when it reaches the river, it must be particularly 'hot.' He better not fall in, unless he wants to be the basis for another superhero origin story. The other female scientist, meanwhile, is exploring the ground above the outlet. She looks quite content to be investigating the remaining plants still clinging on to life. That poor old tree is surely not long for this world, though. It really shouldn't be so black, nor have so few leaves. Many of the other plants are little more than twigs, or else look rather sickly. A four-pane image of various views of the toxic-waste site. Top-left, the journalist speaks to camera, the chemical drums, heaped haphazardly in the background, across the river. Meanwhile, two of the scientists are scienceing. Or at least the woman is, even if it does mean handling dead fish. In the background, Steve is busy being Steve, rushing in where (saner) minds fear to tread. At least he's happy. A mind bereft of thought but brimming over with enthusiasm.

I honestly think this is one of my favourite builds so far. It was a lot of fun to build and I'm very pleased with how it came out. Yes, I have Hazmat figs and a warped sense of humour. And an interest in environmental disasters. This was partly inspired by Love Canal and the Valley of the Drums.
A view across the river towards the effluent outlet. A steady stream of lurid green nastiness flows out into the river, bubbling ominously and sucking the life out of everything it touches. Three drums bearing radiation trefoils are perched on the rocks to the left of the pipe. One of them is oozing lime green goop. A hazmat-suited scientist is perched on some rocks in the stream, pointing his Geiger counter towards the spreading green slick. A further pile of leaking drums is visible to the right of the rocky hill that houses the outlet. More dead, brown plants stand nearby at the edge of the stream. A number of dead fish float on the surface. A view from above, looking downstream over the bubbling green ooze and the poor lifeless fish that bob along on the surface of the river. The scientist's Geiger counter is clearly visible, held out in front of him. It's just as well that he has a full hazmat suit on as those rocks on which he stands do not look like the most secure of perches. Another view over the river, looking downstream over the spreading slick of lurid green effluent and dead fish. In the distance another of the scientists can be seen standing near the river bank. She has a dead fish in one hand and is also holding a Geiger counter. Scientific equipment is set up being her, including a laptop and an oscilloscope. A view of the female scientist examining one of the dead fish. She looks thoroughly disgusted at having to handle the rotting fish, even with gauntlets on. More dead fish float on the river in front of her and some dead plants, possible rushes, lean haphazardly at the water's edge. Behind her, one of her fellow scientists is examining the contents of one of the many chemical drums heaped up against the rocks. At least two of them are leaking.

It's #MinifigMonday (again!?) and this time there's more than just autumn leaves in the air. In fact the air probably contains a number of things no sensible minifig would want any part of. I'm not sure this team is entirely sensible, though. #Lego #AFOL #MOC #MyOwnCreation #Hazmat #ToxicWaste
A disturbingly colourful Lego diorama featuring a rocky outcrop from which some kind of industrial effluent discharges into a river. Whatever is flowing out of that pipe is virulently green and most definitely hazardous to any kind of environment. All the fish in the river are dead and most of the plant life has succumbed. There are also a number of chemical drums that have clearly been dumped, bearing radiological and other hazard warnings. Several of the drums are leaking. Fortunately, there is a four person Hazmat team on the case, all properly suited up and toting various detectors and other equipment. From the other side of the river, a reporter is giving a piece to camera. Bricksanto are probably in for some serious fines once news of this gets out. A front-on view of a Lego environmental disaster. The various abandoned drums of who-knows-what horrors are rather brightly-coloured but anything but cheerful. Whatever is flowing out of the discharge pipe is obnoxiously green and looks to have killed every last fish in the river. One of the hazmat team has retrieved a dead fish. In her other hand she holds a Geiger counter. She looks horrified. Behind her is an assortment of electronic equipment, hastily set up on the crates it arrived in. Another member of the team is standing atop the outlet, where a blackened and nearly dead tree stands. It's branches hold a last few leaves, desperately clinging onto life. Another team member is balanced on some rocks in the middle of the stream, scanning the outflow with his Geiger counter, while the fourth member looks to be studying the main heap of leaky drums. On the opposite bank of the river, a reporter stands, microphone in hand, facing her cameraman. A view upstream shows the true level of devastation this illegal chemical dump has caused. Most of the plants in and around the river are dead, and those that aren't look decidedly sickly. A number of dead fish float down the river. On the right-hand bank, the rocky ground rises over the effluent outlet, crowned by a black and almost leafless tree. A heap of various different chemical drums has been left at the foot of the outcrop. Some carry radiological hazard warnings while others simple display a skull and crossbones and "Danger." The four hazmat-suited scientists are busy examining the scene and collecting evidence, while a journalist on the other bank is giving a live report of the situation. An elevated view of the rocky outcrop and the effluent discharge pipe that passes through it. One of the scientists is stood beside the nearly-dead tree, studying the remaining plant-life, a radiation detector held in one hand. At the base of the small, rocky hill, at least a dozen chemical drums lie in a disorganised heap. Some are red, others yellow, orange, green and black. Some are obviously damaged and are leaking who-knows-what. The plants around them are brown and lifeless. Another hazmat-suited scientist is passing a radiation detector over one of the drums. He looks worryingly excited, given that the gauge on his detector looks to be pinned at full scale. A dead fish is visible, floating on the stream.

And finally (but also featuring a shout-out to last week's entry bsky.app/profile/cobw...)
This week's build also features the Nancy. G. Roman figure from the Women of NASA set, 21312-1. She is awesome and you should go read about her en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_R...
A four-pane image showing views inside the greenhouse (the roof lifts off to give my photographer some kind of chance to actually see all the details). There are wooden tables along both sides of the interior, littered with a veritable panoply of pots, plants, tools and so on. It has an air of barely-controlled chaos but I'm sure the gardener knows where everything is. Yes, it was another excuse to make weird plants and stuff in more details than is feasible. Another four-pane image showing detail views of the greenhouse interior. There are plants large and small, including a particularly large one with ridiculously large magenta flowers (because those parts were made to go together, if you ask me. You didn't, but I'm telling you anyway) As with any decent greenhouse there are numerous pots asking to be filled, seedlings waiting to be potted on, various tools, old newspapers, weedkiller, plant food, twine and so on. There is even a boombox sat on a shelf. I imagine the gardener likes to listen to Radio 4 while she potters about. Another four-pane image, this time concentrating on the outside front of the greenhouse and garden. There is a round, azure-coloured table with pink umbrella, on which sits Nancy's handbag (or purse, if you prefer), some sunglasses and a drink. Her equally-neatly turned out white poodle is watching the orange cat sat on a makeshift table. There are various gardening implements here and there, including a lawnmower, wheelbarrow and so on. The gardener, wearing bright blue leopard-print trousers and purple floral top, has come out to show her neighbour the plant she has just potted on. Nancy seriously questions her neighbour's taste but she cannot deny that the woman has seriously green fingers. She also makes a mean dry martini. And even the Mother of Hubble likes to catch up on all the neighbourhood gossip from time to time. Another four-pane image showing detail views of the front of the greenhouse and garden. I have a feeling that Nancy is rather enjoying her martini.

It's that time again and for this week's #MinifigMonday we're enjoying the outdoors and doing a spot of gardening with the Collectable Minifigure Gardener. Nancy G. Roman has popped over to see her neighbour and catch up on all the latest gossip.

#Lego #AFOL #MOC #MyOwnCreation #BloomScrolling
A Lego diorama of a large greenhouse set in a neatly manicured garden featuring a number of flowering bushes. The greenhouse is set at an angle and outside the front there is a table with umbrella, a lawnmower and other gardening tools, and two female minifigures. There is also an orange cat vying for attention, and a pink flamingo. The greenhouse has solar panels on the roof and there are water butts for collecting rainwater. A view of the right-hand side of the Lego greenhouse. There are baskets of flowering plants on the side and a compost bin to the rear, as well as a small raccoon who may be considering raiding said bin for anything vaguely edible. A small blue bird sits on the peak of the greenhouse roof and a couple of its fellows are bimbling about among the shrubbery. No word on the presence of any knights. A view of the front of the greenhouse. The door is open and the gardener has come out to show her visiting neighbour the plant she has just re-potted. There is a table with pink umbrella, a wheelbarrow and various other gardening tools. The greenhouse is adorned with a number of baskets containing flowering plants. A view of the left-hand side/rear of the greenhouse. There is another water butt towards the front and more baskets of flowering plants. A raccoon sits at the rear corner.

Ugh. Guess who fell asleep while editing photos...

I'll get there. Eventually.
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
Plants.

Again.

🙄

(But no crazy trees, just probably crazy everything else if I ask Kayelem)

And finally... (plus a shout-out to last week's post) bsky.app/profile/cobw...
A close-up view of the right-hand side of the building, showing a man using the payphone and a woman who has just withdrawn some cash from the ATM. There is also a green bin with a recycling symbol on it, containing an empty can of Buzz cola. An inside view of the laundrette looking straight at the back window, in front of which sit two patrons, one doing a crossword and the other using his phone to message someone. A four-pane image showing interior views of the laundrette, the various customer and the smiling proprietor. Three of the four were taken with the back wall removed but it was apparently still a pain to photograph. A four-pane image of exterior views of the laundrette, showing the scooters parked outside, a view through the front door and window, the people using the payphone and ATM, and the back window shaped like the door of a washing machine.

In this week's episode of How did it take me so long to get this #MinifigMonday diorama done and posted, we're off to the Soap 'n' Suds Sunshine Laundrette. A relatively simple one, this time. Why the Sun-thing? I dunno, I just thought it was neat.

#Lego #AFOL #MOC #MyOwnCreation
Exterior view of the front of a Lego laundrette diorama. The building has a full-height window with "Soap 'n' Suds" in large letters, and "Wash - Dry - Fold 24 Hr Service underneath, and a neon sign saying Open above. To either side of the entrance are displays that look like coloured bubbles rising upwards. The interior is visible through the window and glass door. Outside, to the left, is parked an e-scooter. On the right is parked a normal scooter with a box on the back. On the right side of the building their is a man with long yellow hair using a payphone and a woman who has just used an ATM. Behind the ATM is visible the back of some kind of sign with large gold rays sticking out. View of the back (or is this actually the front?) of the Laundrette. The wall features a round window that is framed to look like the door of a washing machine with multicoloured bubbles within it. To the left of the building is a large yellow Sun sign, shaped roughly like a quarter circle with four long, tapered gold rays projecting outwards. It has a beaming face in the lower-right corner. A view of the left-hand side of the laundrette. A large, vertically-oriented illuminated billboard advertises the business. It says "Soap 'n' Suds cleans it all" above, and shows an image of a washing machine and a woman with a basket of, presumably clean, laundry. We can also see an e-scooter parked outside the laundrette. A view of the right-hand side of the laundrette. There is a payphone at the left corner, which a man with long yellow hair is using, and next to which is parked a scooter. Towards the back (or is it front?) is an ATM with the large Sun sign behind it. A woman with bright pink hair up in bunches has just withdrawn some cash from the machine. Through the windows in the side of the laundrette several orange baskets, and potted plants are visible.

I sincerely hope not! Just a dust magnet. Anyway, I'm getting there...
cobwebmadeoflego.bsky.social
AAAAGGHH! I need a clean room for lego. I swear the specks of dust sneak in after the photo has been taken! They must hide behind a molecule, or something.

🤬
