V debuted first, age twelve, as Iggy McEntire's painfully adorable love interest on Iggy McEntire, the 1999 show that dominated the after-school slot and at least half of Jayce's childhood endocrine system. He remembers being nine, sitting with the other Heim Kids (a name so bad it should've come with hazard pay), asking if they'd seen Todd on the newest episodes of Iggy McEntire. "Oh, that kid," Mr. Cecil — the man who wore the hamster suit; yes, hamster suit; no, it didn't get better with context — said. "He auditioned for Dimitri's role. Network wanted a Jewish kid, but not a cripple. Shame. That kid would've acted circles around this bunch." And Jayce, who had already been carrying around a quiet, stubborn little crush, tucked it deeper under his ribs where nobody could see it. Except when Odera or Gina dragged it out of him. They always did, whenever the opportunity arose, usually by weaponizing popcorn and gossip.
