I am sorry but one blanket statement of "Fuck JKR. Slava Ukraini and Free Palestine" is not enough to get the box checked and get off the hook. Especially (!!) within inherently problematic HP fandom.

I think that, frankly, it is very lazy and privileged position to take.

The number of people I see consistently talk about Palestine is less than five. More like 2 or 3.

And I think that's sad. If a genocide doesn't get a reaction out of you (besides a measly like on posts online) then I am starting to understand why democracy and freedom is on the downfall worldwide.

I hate that we treat bsky as an "escape". Yeah, Twitter has its issues, but unlike bsky it wasn't an echo chamber. I honestly believe most of you moved here just so you weren't confronted by hard to digest news and saw it as a way back to "I am won't get political on my fandom account" mindset.
