Last Thursday, I spoke with Code Differently cohort students about my journey in tech.

Immediately after, I volunteered to conduct mock interviews at Resilient Coders Technical Interview Night.

A busy Thursday, but I enjoyed sharing my experiences and providing advice!

I’m guessing you’re too young to remember the first 2 waves of social networks

Not only the popular ones that failed (MySpace, Google+) but there were lots of ones you never heard of (chime, ping, meerkat)

Too many social media apps being created. I think we are all due for a cooldown 😂

Will that ever happen? Absolutely not 😂

Talking with a good friend of mine, I was complaining about how there’s no set standard for how Golang projects should be formatted.

What I love about Technical Writing is that it forces you to view concepts and think as a beginner. If your document can’t cater to the inexperienced audience, then perhaps your document is not translated enough.

Reddit users are literally fighting the company for access to THEIR user-generated content.

This is when the idea of decoupling user data from applications really looks appealing.

I really enjoy systems design. At my current level, I don’t get opportunity to participate in those discussions. I spent
a lot of time this weekend doing exercises.

Hi friends! I'm Andy, I'm a principal SWE, primarily working in TypeScript and React. I did about 13 years at Microsoft and I'm currently at Tableau. BlueSky seems pretty rad; happy to be here!

I appreciate CodedByKids for having me as a judge for their 2023 Ctrl+Shift coding competition. As a Philly native and once a high school student, it’s amazing to see kids getting the exposure and opportunity in tech!

If your team is geographically diverse, enforcing hybrid is just a method of micro management.
