“Stabby” is his nickname. I’m not a fan of judging people by how they look- there is always a story to go with.
Portland, Or has a crazy graffiti scene. It’s not humanly possible to keep up with it. The community has figured out how to start getting the artist to put commissioned work on buildings. Creating opportunities is much more tangible than fighting motived creatives.
Life on the streets of Spokane. I’ve walked every winter since 2018. The amount of people I’ve cross paths with since then is a lot. They come and go- for as much as I would love to walk away from this routine, I’m not going to. I find more comfort on the streets than I do amongst friends.
We are far from authentic- we are run by algorithms. We yell at stuff we have zero control over. We set boundaries so no one can come into our safe space. Our wellness is more important than understanding another person. We are slowly pulling ourselves apart from each other.
And I’m not a paid journalist- this should not ever be my concern. Way above my grade.
Walking around Spokane last night.
Someone caught capturing this fella Devin when I was in Portland a week ago.

Follow Ben Tobin @coldwetdays.bsky.social for excellent PNW street photography- often from early morning walks in #Spokane, but also from “war-torn” #Portland
Saw the @mayorspokane.bsky.social riding her bike to work last week.
Haha, “war torn” Portland. Thank you Lisa.

Early morning Spokane. Some of us enjoy waking up early and walking the city.
My favorite outlet for Spokane reader funded journalism.

From 1:45 pm until 11 pm, we were on the streets of Spokane, documenting and live-streaming peaceful community protests against ICE's detainment of two young men that were escalated by state violence.

Here's everything we know: rangemedia.co/everything-w...

For the fear mongers who say laws aren’t being enforced, here’s a few interesting data points in the Spokane Police Department presentation to the city council today. Pedestrian interference, which is usually only cited for homeless people, is up 303%. Unlawful camping are citations up 196%
I like to park off 3rd ave at times and walk into the city core of Spokane.
Spokane bus plaza area from this last week in the morning.
I was out last night walking around the city of Spokane.
I was rather pleased to be part of the story. Walking w/ my camera downtown Spokane has become a daily ritual and if I’m ever contemplating something about the city, @merrywanderer.bsky.social and @rangemedia.co is my go to.
Totally forgot he has a BSKY now but thank you so much to my photographer @coldwetdays.bsky.social who offered a lot of insight that shaped this story and some beautiful photos
