Birding mainly between Easington and Spurn and Outstrays along the Humber. No lists, just enjoying looking for my own stuff.
….. and a Pintail.
There are few Baikal Teal (Sibirionetta formosa 花脸鸭 Huāliǎn yā) wintering at the Yellow River estuary in Shandong Province. Photo by "菜小hua". #birds #china #yellowriver

Never seen so many blue #flycatchers (≤20 individuals combined of 4 spp. identified) visiting a single pool in merely an hour!
These include the resident Indochinese, the fully migratory Chinese, and the partially migratory Hill & Hainan. Taken at Tham Pha Tha Pon, #Thailand a few days ago

Three hour walk along the Outstrays from Patrington to Skeffling with Mrs B. and Winnie and hardly another soul in sight. Black Brant, a Light-bellied Brent and at least 28 Russian White-fronts at Welwick were the best birds of the day.

25/12/25. Plenty of wildfowl on view around the Spurn area during our Christmas Day walk. As well as the usual dabbling duck there were 3 Barnacle Geese on the wetlands and a small group of grey geese on Easington Straight included 7 Tundra Beans, 4 ad’ Russian White-fronts and 2 Pinks #phonescoped

One of the world's oldest living animal species has been restored to a reserve on the Scottish Solway coast:
Rare prehistoric species restored to Solway coast
One of the world's oldest living animal species has been restored to a reserve on the Scottish Solway coast. Recent wet weather has hatched a new population of the rare Tadpole Shrimp at Mersehead RSPB, Dumfries. This represents only the third known population of the crustacean in the UK. The last official record of the Tadpole Shrimp at Mersehead was 1948.
