Cambridge Computer's mailing address (Sussex Street) is a five minute walk from The Baron of Beef. 🍻

Played this for the first time the other day. Couldn't get past the trolls. I never was any good at adventure games!

From ZX Spectrum beeps to symphonic gothic soundscapes: The original Heavy on the Magick (1986) theme (linked in comments) reimagined as background music for my attempt at playing this one-of-a-kind adventure from another era.

A heck of a bio from Imagine on this cassette inlay for Pedro, shortly before they went bankrupt.
No I'm not trying it all out!

That's what it says. And who am I to argue?

Oh-oh... It's got the serial number of the beast. #TheSpectrum
The serial number on my The Spectrum is 00070666. If that's not a bad omen I don't know what is.

I caved in and bought The Spectrum. Time for nostalgia overload! 83 to 87 were my speccy years. #TheSpectrum
RGL's The Spectrum. Minty fresh out of the box.

Sony Bravia. There is no substitute.
Prince of Persia title screen. Amiga version.

Yeah, got a lovely 2007 Sony Bravia in the kitchen. 👍
commodorestuff.bsky.social
Either you can't just output video from RGB into SCART or this old TV is sh*t. Pretty sure I remember it working on the Sony Bravia. #Amiga

My dad got rid of our NASCOM 1 at some point in the 80s. It was feeble and pointless, but an interesting curiosity. The one I regret selling was my Amiga 500. Doh!
A print ad for NASCOM 1. It doesn't have a case but ours did.

Not for me, but it's great that people are still passionate enough about the Amiga to undertake these projects.

All I really want is someone to make a time machine to take me back to 1988 and my Amiga 500. I mean is that too much to ask?

All these years have passed and I never knew there was a Battle Chess 2!

Absolutely wasted on catnip.
A black and white cat laying on the carpet, clutching a catnip toy.

It is odd that Commodore thought that the C128D would compete with the Amiga. I would have thought they'd have different markets.

Does Bryce have one in Max Headroom, or did I imagine that?

Posted a question on BlueSky (with relevant hashtags) and got zero interaction. Posted the same question in the appropriate Facebook group and got 20 replies within an hour. Must be a much bigger retrogaming crowd there. It's a shame because I hate Meta's business ethics and Facebook's UX sucks.

Anyone used a SCART to HDMI converter to connect an Amiga with a modern TV or monitor? (Via an RGB-to-SCART lead, obvs.)
£30. Bargain or too cheap to be good? #Amiga #RetroGaming
HD SCART/HDMI to HDMI converter.

It's OK but not perfect. I don't think it has a comb filter? Great for the price, and RetroTinks are difficult to get hold of in the UK.

However! I can't get a picture from the Amiga 1200 out of the RetroScaler. Composite worked for the C64 but for some reason not for the Amiga. Alan tried to help but frankly he's useless. Any ideas how to get it working? #Amiga #RetroGaming
No composite to HDMI from my Amiga. My cat is sitting behind it, staring at a tiny paper tank mouse. My cat trying the delete key on my Amiga, unaware that I'd already switched it off.

I bought one of those cheapo upscalers, and you know what? It's not as bad as I was expecting. There's a ringing endorsement! Tried it with s-video and composite on a stock C64c and my oldest breadbin with its Copperdragon modulator replacement, which did look better. #C64 #RetroGaming
Retroscaler 2x with s-video input from a C64. HDMI output on my LCD monitor. Text of various colours on the C64c BASIC screen. Photo taken at a jaunty angle to reduce moire patterns. Terra Cresta loading screen. I need to try this with a flat screen TV that lets me change the picture aspect ratio to 4:3. More colourful text on the knackered breadbin BASIC screen. Typos ahoy and the spacebar has stopped working since I last used it.

Unlike the rest of you, I get my news from a reliable source. #RetroGaming
