Changing the information climate.
Declare you won’t promote climate pollution.

The United Nations climate talks in Brazil was the first to formally recognise that 'information integrity' is a vital part of phasing out fossil fuels.

Here's three steps COP organisers and leaders nations should take now to put that into action.

COP30 TEXT ANALYSIS: One way to read dense COP text is to focus on the verbs. These are helpfully italicised – and for good reason.

MOSTLY INACTIVE: Carbon Brief analysis of the “global mutirão” text finds 69 inactive verbs, requiring no action, against 32 active verbs.

Fossil-fuel phaseout is the only true solution — and the only message that industry will never (indeed *can* never) appropriate and weaponize.

Massive congratulations to @stopwoodsidemonash.bsky.social for kicking Woodside out of their university. Thanks to @mehreenfaruqi.bsky.social for taking up the cause of clean sponsorships!
Announced by us yesterday, and confirmed today thanks to the work of Senator @mehreenfaruqi.bsky.social, Monash will end its partnership with #WoodsideEnergy.

When they discuss changes in community expectations, we know what they mean; it’s all of you who joined us on this journey.

Thanks to all!

To understand how Bari Weiss might approach climate coverage at CBS, I read every climate article the Free Press has published.

Almost every one reinforced a common fossil fuel industry talking point—that climate change is exaggerated, that solutions don't work, and that fossil fuels = freedom
Bari Weiss vs. climate change
At The Free Press, Weiss consistently rebrands tired fossil fuel talking points as courageous, rebellious dissent.
