In 1978, Tibbets was still upset with A-bomb survivor and Confederate Air Force reenactment protester Ichiro Moritaki (1901-1994). Tibbets wrote in his memoir: "It is even possible to suggest that Mr. Mortake might not be alive today, to lead his protest group, had it not been for the atom bomb."
