And as I'm sure you've heard from other authors, first week sales really do matter so much! So I'm gonna sell a bit.

Good movie!
Rian Johnson’s new "Knives Out" mystery hits all the expected sweet spots, but also goes in some unexpected (and delightful) directions. Our review of “Wake Up Dead Man”:

On the film noir police procedural 'He Walked by Night,' released on this day in 1948:
Classic Corner: He Walked By Night — Crooked Marquee
The 1948 thriller has the look and pedigree of film noir, but it’s a clear forerunner for the police procedurals to come.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Variety should stick to what it does best: selling overpriced FYC packages to far-right podcasters
Miranda July's Me You and Everyone We Know (#76) is one slot ahead of Blazing Saddles (#77) what IS this list?
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

A huge reason that Tubi and especially PlutoTV are popular is that people can push a button on their Roku and it turns into a cable box channel guide from 1997
I watch the Samsung tv thing a lot. It’s like if basic cable and streaming had a baby and it wasn’t quite as good at the core competencies of both both than either, but I still somehow prefer it because it is predictable and follows a comforting pattern

THIS. What's funny is that quote is from HBO's Casey Bloys, who went on and on about how the lessons they learned from THE PITT were to do longer seasons that start at the same time every year and it's like HBO IS EXPLICITLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE CHANGES, THEY WERE NORMALIZED BY THE SOPRANOS

I am increasingly moving toward the take that "consumers" don't want to think about any of this shit. In fact, they want to go back to the way TV used to be, before they had to have seven streaming services that cost more than cable and knew when the shows they like would be on or would be back.
I am *always* looking to add to my entertainment portfolio. I am dedicated to yielding peak value from audio-visual commodities.
