I have no emotional investment in this game, so I'm just rooting for chaos tbh.

I think that’s a clear signal of who gets to work in journalism / media and who doesn’t. That you can help elevate a presidential candidate that you’re having a romantic relationship with, advise and strategize for him, and keep your position. But if you so much as post about Gaza then that’s it.

I think plenty of it speaks to the state of the media, but an obvious one is that Vox and Vanity Fair barely investigated her and that she managed to commit an unforgivable journalistic crime before getting a book deal and walking into another prestige job, while plenty of others are being laid off
you know, what if they aren't actually a commentary on journalism or the state of media. what if these people are just extremely weird

This is the correct take. Stewing in white supremacist propaganda is bad for your thinking. And if think you are so savvy that it won’t impact you, you are the exact kind of mark they are slowly converting (I’m looking at you, centrist pundits).
It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

Something I've been thinking about a lot today is how back when Nuzzi got revealed to be bff's with the notorious right wing extremist Milo, the elite liberal press crowd instantly circled the wagons to defend her honor.

Interesting who does and doesn't get afforded that kind of solidarity.

I hope that this doesn't just become about "Nuzzi is bad" but fosters a wider recognition that our culture of political journalism that didn't just tolerate her, but promoted and celebrated her even after the allegations were known, is rotten to the core and has been for a long time.
this was bad before, but these are the most troubling and serious allegations you can make about a journalist. if they’re true, i genuinely can’t think of a worse scandal in the history of political journalism. devastating to our industry, to public trust as a whole, and to everyone in its orbit

Paprika and hot chili oil.

I have a cupboard full of both because apparently my brain refuses to accept that I already have them the second I step foot in a grocery store 😭
what's a thing you always buy because you think you're out then you get home and see you had it the whole time?

For me it's magic erasers.

Okay so what I’m reading here, if this account is to be believed, is that Lizza and Nuzzi are complicit in withholding major dark political actions that have had insane implications for like, everybody. Journalistic malpractice doesn’t even begin to cover it
While there are often some ethical issues with making free PDFs of paywalled content, in this case it seems entirely justifiable, given the author, the subject, and the journalistic imperative to provide the widest possible audience for the verb "Michael Wolffed"

One indicator of how certain forms of casual bigotry have (again) become entirely acceptable in the post-George Floyd protest era is that "woke" as pejorative is fully normalized in media across the ideological spectrum. To the point where it's now just casually thrown around without pause.
