Hundreds are streaming across the snow and ice into Powderhorn Park for a rally and march demanding ICE leave Minnesota.
It is bitterly cold. There are hardcore Midwesterners out here making their way in with trekking poles.

Surveillance cameras were far from ubiquitous and in a lot of cases, rare. ICE didn't exist. Local law enforcement didn't have an unending supply of military hardware.

If you can’t understand the sentence “Although statistical evidence suggests otherwise, these unfortunate events are happening more often” then you can’t understand today’s politics. (I am definitely in the “this breaks my brain so don’t look to me” camp.)

The raid on the high school on Thursday was also a noticable escalation from anything that we've seen so far
if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.
everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."
