Damn it, I just remembered I never got hold of those Chris Ware stamps.
Canada is releasing a set of stamps celebrating the nation's graphic novelists.

These stamps feature Kate Beaton, Jimmy Beaulieu, Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Bryan Lee O’Malley and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, alongside some of their famous works.

I have said before and will say again that it is such a loss that we no longer get covers of this caliber for fantasy books.

This art is by Jean-Léon Huens. These covers are for the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. They lit my imagination on fire as a kid.

~1 yr ago we sent a Giving Tuesday email to our tiny mailing list shortly after starting our own publication.

In the time since, we have been overwhelmed by how many of you find our work worth supporting.

No email this time around. But if you'd like to support indie media today, here's how:

I still think the state should cut all power lines to the Broadview facility immediately, while there are no victims imprisoned there
a lot of interesting tidbits in this story about rep. lauren underwood’s visit to the broadview ice jail.

as always, take everything dhs says with a grain of salt. but it sounds like the feds’ terror in chicago is far from over.

This is incredibly random, but for some reason the song "Help Me, Rhonda" got stuck in my head, which made me wonder: has there ever been a response song, from Rhonda's POV? Something along the lines of "Screw you, I'm not going to be your rebound" or "oh so NOW you notice me"?

I can't decide myself whether trying an impeachment every day only to get knocked down like the Epstein Files, until it finally someday paases, is a worthwhile thing. The difference is a lot of the R base or at least the loud ones are pro EF release, but anti impeachment
The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

This is a great video. I'm pretty sure I knew some of this before but I haven't seen it all laid out like this, nor by using what is generally considered a good scene (the Council of Elrond) as a negative example

I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.
