the BBC when it has a chance to punch up: yes sir sorry sir we’ll be sure to flatter you sir

the BBC when it’s time to cover trans people and immigrants: you people have had an easy ride for far too long
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

I still think the state should cut all power lines to the Broadview facility immediately, while there are no victims imprisoned there
a lot of interesting tidbits in this story about rep. lauren underwood’s visit to the broadview ice jail.

as always, take everything dhs says with a grain of salt. but it sounds like the feds’ terror in chicago is far from over.

I can not emphasise how rigged against trans people the application of law is within the UK.

There are clear evidence of sympathies throughout the police and judiciary with what are essentially far-right vehicles for civil unrest and division.

It feels worth mentioning that Graham Linehan’s harassment literally continued in the courtroom, as he repeatedly misgendered Sophia, and referred to her as “Tarquin”, a fictional deadname he made up for her as part of his harassment campaign. The judge was complicit in this harassment happening.
I wonder if I spent all day, every day, for years, calling Graham Linehan - or the judge - a nonce and then, when I saw him in the street screamed it in his face and smashed his phone, would a judge find I had done no harassing?

And that's not even factoring in the age of his victim

It is genuinely insane to see a judge describe Graham Linehan as a “generally credible witness” in a trial where he claimed Sophia Brooks has been engaged in “trans activism” since 2013 (when she would’ve been 6 years old), then, when challenged, claimed her drivers license lied about her age.

You can literally say what you want about trans people and the UK courts are fine with it.

The marketing for this movie completely misrepresented it as one of those 90s "erotic thrillers" of dubious and varying quality. However, honestly, watching it with that misapprehension makes what the movie actually is about hit about 100 times harder. Just stunning.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

UPDATE: Another judge just dinged DOJ in another trans care subpoena case, with Judge Joun finding that DOJ missed a deadline, and, accordingly, their motion to alter the judgment in the Boston Children's Hospital case was "untimely." And, because DOJ also appealed, Joun has no further jurisdiction.

I’m not saying WICKED: FOR GOOD is a great movie (Michelle Yeoh, an extremely talent actor, stinks in these films and I have to conclude it’s just bad casting). It certainly relies on you bringing in your emotional response to the first one. But the critics slamming it have missed the mark imho.

And those 5% still shouldn’t be detained and deported
NEW data I've received: Just 5% of people detained by ICE since October 1 have had violent criminal convictions, 3/4 had no criminal convictions at all. Most "criminals" had immigration, traffic, and vice offenses. Not the "worst of the worst"...

For example, his 1971 album for Island, Another Cycle, recorded at Muscle Shoals, has never been properly reissued
