For all its many flaws, the existing childcare subsidy program has kept a finger in the dam. We may be about to find out what happens when leaders choose to let the deluge through.
How Trump Is Harming Federal Childcare Funding
A court shut down his five-state freeze—for now—but his “defend the spend” policy is still a recipe for chaos.

Just a superb piece 👇 by @markhertling.bsky.social. "I’ve commanded soldiers in combat zones where anonymity could mean life or death. Even then, we understood that identity signaled responsibility. It signaled professionalism, discipline, and confidence in the mission."

I would strongly advocate that Democrats recognize that they could weaken Trump more effectively by holding impeachment hearings on some of his most out-of-control and vulnerable appointees.
IMPEACH: The case for Democrats to get moving on impeachment now—and what that would look like, and why it could help them rather than hurt them in the midterms. (And not just Trump but his terrible cabinet, too.)

Trump and his supporters have made clear that they believe international law is a fiction—it's "fake and gay," as one recently said—and what really matters is just power: might makes right.

And it sure seems like they believe the same to be true domestically.

Turns out the Trump domination theory of foreign policy applies to domestic politics, too.

Breaking NYT:

Federal investigators assigned to the killing of Renee Good are looking into her possible connections to activist groups.

It's in line with the admin's strategy of deflecting blame toward opponents they describe as domestic terrorists — without providing evidence.
