THIS.
The argument ends up being that misogyny is just something inherent to the existence of women and other people affected by misogyny, rather than the fact that misogyny is something inherent to patriarchy. You could read or write m/f or f/f romances in worlds where misogyny/patriarchy do not exist.

A big thing that was intensely evident while I was reporting this piece:

In parts of Minneapolis, DHS/ICE is everywhere.

Last night with no warning, RFK Jr. cancelled up to $2 billion in funding for mental health and substance abuse research and programs administered through SAMHSA.

He and his minions did so because “they no longer believe the defunded programs align with the Trump administration's priorities”.

2) EVERY one of them call to abolish ICE (and bonus, DHS). No more “they need training” shit. Promise prosecutions.

3) EVERY one of them call for Trump’s impeachment, relentlessly, EVERY day.

sorry but i find the sentiment in this quote extremely disingenuous. men also suffer at the hands of men. especially irl wrt being queer. is it relaxing to read/watch toxic masculinity then? there exist also m/f romances where misogyny isn't a thing - so many romances include this! SO MANY.
I spoke to women (and one man) about what they find so hot about Heated Rivalry.

"The main reason I read MM is I just absolutely cannot stand reading or watching women suffer at the hands of men – in any way, big or small, anymore... We, as women, can just watch this and relax.”
Women are feral for Heated Rivalry. What does that say about men?
